Our ethos at the Embassy Apartments, Glasgow is to offer our guests more than just a comfortable and affordable place to stay—we strive to create content that will enhance your experience with us that reflects our love for Glasgow and its surroundings. That’s why we want to tell our guests about one of the most popular and easy day trips from Glasgow: a visit to the breath-taking Loch Lomond.

Why Loch Lomond?

Loch Lomond is the perfect place to go if you’re considering a day trip from Glasgow. Just a short drive from away, it is known for its spectacular scenery, tranquil waters, and diverse wildlife. Always a busy spot for visiting locals and tourists, try and get there early. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast looking for a great hike or a family or couple wanting to enjoy quality time, Loch Lomond appeals to everyone. Its rich history, connection to Scottish culture, and sheer beauty make it a must-visit, not to mention a certain Scottish song!

What else is there to do?

As we’ve mentioned Loch Lomond is a dream destination for you if you love the great outdoors. If you prefer a slower pace of life, hop on a boat tour, or discover kayaking to fulfil your love and connection with the Loch. PS Don’t forget to pack a pair of binoculars, you never know what bird or animal you’ll spot.

The village itself is as would expect charming and offers a choice of many quaint coffee shops, restaurants and other select and individual shops to browse in. For any budding marine biologists, the nearby Sea Life Aquarium is also worth a visit.

Getting there

Easily accessible from our hotel, Loch Lomond is approx. a 40 minute drive from Glasgow’s West End. You can either drive yourself (we’ll be happy to help you with directions) or take a quick train from Glasgow’s central stations to Balloch, the nearest station to the Loch. Once there, you’ll have plenty of options for exploring this beautiful part of Scotland.

At the end of a fantastic day at Loch Lomond, you’ll come back to the Embassy Apartments where we’d love to hear about how you got on! Because as our guests, we are always keen to know how your overall stay in Glasgow is for you.
